Good morning. I'm meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner. Our next weather makers look like this, starting off nice and quiet this morning, a little bit warmer with more of a southerly flow today. And then rain and thunderstorms on their way for the evening, mostly around dinner time and up until around midnight. And then we have another round that comes in with a cold front for tomorrow, and we do have a level one risk for severe storms. It looks like isolated wind damage and hail is what we'd have the best chance of seeing tomorrow. Here's a look at the The big picture is this next front, next weather maker comes on through. It's a warm front north of us. That's opening the door to some warmer temperatures for today. When the cold front swings through tomorrow, that's when we'll have a chance for some severe storms. Starting right around lunchtime, we'll see partly cloudy skies, but through the afternoon, the clouds will thicken up. Could be a few sprinkles that pop up during the evening commute, but it's likely to be closer to 678 o'clock when we see that line of. that comes through. This one doesn't look like it will be severe. We're not under a level one risk for severe storms for today, but we are for tomorrow. But it looks like it'll be pretty wet during the dinner hour, and then it starts to taper off closer to midnight. We may see some waves of rain on and off during the morning tomorrow that could affect the morning commute. And then when the cold front swings through later on tomorrow, we'll have the chance of a few cells becoming severe with maybe a couple of trees down. And some hail that develops. As we get into Saturday, the front has moved off. We'll see some wrap-around moisture with some cloud cover Saturday morning and maybe a quick sprinkle, but our chances for rain for Saturday are are minimal. Saturday is going to be pretty cool as we're back into a northerly flow. Our severe threat for tomorrow, small hail, gusty winds, and winds could gust in some places up to over 58 MPH. This afternoon, 70. In Raleigh, 68 in Durham, and 74 in Fayetteville, and we're about to jump on the roller coaster. That's pretty typical this time of year, but our normal high is 71, so we'll be close to that today. And then a chilly day on Saturday at 59, and then two days later on Monday, 82 degrees. So hold on to the roller coaster. The only rain that's in our forecast for the next 5 days is going to be tonight and Friday, again right now, the weekend looks like it should be dry.

<p>Brad Cree Good afternoon, everybody. It's always fun to be standing here in this room on a situation like this. There's a lot of excitement here today. Basketball has a storied and celebrated life here at this university. Going back all the way to the days of Carter G Jim and um John Wooden's East Coast basketball camp. And today we start another chapter in the exciting history of Campbell basketball. I can't tell you how impressed I am with the coach you're gonna meet today, his intelligence, his work ethic, his commitment, his success, his values, how he treats people, how he fits very well in this place. This is a year of last for me, as many of you know, and I'm very pleased that one of the last things that I'm going to be involved in is the hiring of a new basketball coach. I'll remember that, uh, for as long as I live. Uh, coaches had a pretty exciting and memorable week this week, one that's hard to repeat, and I've enjoyed getting to know him. Glad that his parents are here today. They're just wonderful people, and, uh, there's so many of you here today. I welcome you. I especially would like to recognize, uh, the commissioner of the Coastal Athletic Association who has come a long way today to be here, uh, Joey D'Antonio. Joey, stand so we can recognize you and thank you. There's so many other, uh, words of uh commendation I could give, but, uh, the one that I wanna say, uh, next is to our athletic director Hannah Bazemore. It's been incredible working with her over these past few years. Uh, those of you who know me know I'm not a betting man, but if I ever go to Church Hill Downs or Kingsland in Lexington, I'm gonna ask Hannah for advices on which horse to put my money on because she knows how to pick a winner. And so thank you for being here today and go camps. Thank you, Doctor Creed. Uh, and then next up for our introduction, um, I'm gonna bring up the director of athletics, Hannah Bazemore. Good afternoon. Thank you all again for for being here. It is another exciting day for Campbell Athletics, and I couldn't be more thrilled to introduce the next leader of our men's basketball program, John Andrazek. When we began the search, we were looking for a coach who embodied the values of our athletic department. Someone who would embrace Campbell and our community, someone who understands that this job is more than just what happens on game days, that being here, living here, and becoming intertwined with our great campus and community is essential. Someone who is committed to excellence in the classroom in competition and in the community. We wanted a leader who would develop student athletes, inspire a winning culture, and help us achieve our vision of competing for CAA championships and making a mark in the NCAA postseason. From the very beginning, John stood out as the right fit for Campbell University. He understands what it means to embrace the place at Campbell and is committed to doing just that. What separated John from many other great candidates was his proven system of evaluating recruits, which will get student athletes here who will take this team to great heights. He is ranked as one of the top recruiters in the nation. Not only because he can get players from North Carolina, the Southeast, and the East Coast, but he has worked tirelessly to build a network of recruiting that spans from Europe to Africa to South America and Australia. He has gotten these players not only to come to Gainesville, Florida, but also to Pullman, Washington and Hanover, New Hampshire. His passion for the game, his ability to develop players, and his relentless drive to build a championship caliber program aligned perfectly with our mission and values. He understands that success is not measured solely by wins and losses, but also by the growth of our student athletes as leaders on and off the court. John brings a wealth of experience, a sharp basketball mind, and a strong commitment to developing a program that our student athletes, alumni, and fans will be proud of. His leadership and vision will push us to new heights, and I have no doubt that he is the right person to lead our program forward. Coach, welcome to the Campbell family. We're excited for this new era and can't wait to see what the future holds. Now it is my honor to introduce the man of the hour, the new head coach of Campbell men's basketball, John Anderszek. This Wow. Campbell Community, I, I could not be more excited to be your new head men's basketball coach. I want to give a special thank you. To athletic director Hannah Bazemore, to President J. Robert Creed, incoming president, Doctor William Man Downs, Deputy AD Justin Wilkins, and everybody else that has been involved in this process. You wanted me to be your basketball coach long before I became a national champion. I am humbled and honored that you've chosen to move forward with my vision for Campbell basketball. During this process, I've fallen in love with this great university, our passionate fans, and the Bowie's Creek community. Everywhere I've gone, I've been greeted with a warm smile and a word of encouragement. This is the kind of place where you can make friendships that last a lifetime. And meet people you'll never forget. We're gonna make some great memories here together too. I'm excited to live here, not in the Raleigh suburb, but right here in Harnet County. I grew up in a small rural upstate New York town. I grew up bale and hay. I would come home and play with the neighbor's kids after school. I love this place. This is home for me. As we embark on this next chapter together. I want to build a program that you all can be proud of. And for me, that starts with getting the right people on the bus. Everyone in our program from coaches to support staff to student athletes will live out our daily mantra. We want people that have great attitudes that work really hard and are gonna take tremendous pride in being at Campbell. If we do these 3 things every day. Everything else will take care of itself. We've already begun putting together a really talented coaching staff that is well equipped to develop our student athletes both on and off the court. Our associate head coach, Landry Kozowski is in the back back there. Landry lives our daily mantra of great attitudes, great, great work ethics and pride in the program. He knows what it takes to build and sustain success, and I plan on leaning on him heavily. He also coached and played in this great basketball state at Davidson. He will be a tremendous asset to this program. In the coming days, more hires will be announced. You will, you will see us all around campus. At the softball games, at baseball, at the football tailgates in church. You name it, come say hi, introduce yourselves. Moving the moving the basketball on the recruiting trail, we will prioritize student athletes that fit this place and fit our core values. We will recruit good students and good community members. We will start our search in our backyard where stars like Cory Genzler, Chris Clemons. And Jordan Whitfield first showcase their talents. We will also be active in the transfer portal with transfers from lower levels. That are looking for a bigger platform to showcase their abilities and also with transfers from the Power Five level that are looking for more opportunity. We will also leave no stone unturned internationally. On the court, we will be a hardworking blue collar team. We will earn every victory that we get. Practices will be competitive and they will be physical. We will build a program that reflects the values of the people of Harnet County. On offense, we will open up the floor and, and, uh, we will open up the floor and we'll emphasize transition scoring opportunities. We will play fast. Like our national championship Florida team, our pace will be relentless. In the half court, we'll prioritize getting dunks, 3s, and trips to the foul line. The ball will have energy. It'll zip around. We'll share the juices and we'll play for each other. On the other side of the ball, we will play hard, we'll play physical, and we'll be well connected. We will strive to protect the paint, to limit open catch and shoot threes, and we will force tough twos. All in all, we will defend as a team. And when the shot goes up, we will box out and we will fight for that rebound. In short, our program will place great emphasis on defending, rebounding, and taking care of the ball. It's a mantra that has carried us. Through this, in this coaching tree, everywhere we've been from the Division 3 level to the West Coast to the Ivy League. To the Pac 12 and on Monday night, the very summit of college basketball. I came here to bring this program back to the NCAA tournament. I know it won't be easy, and I know it won't happen all at once. It's gonna take time. This is a great conference with very talented players and proven coaches. There are steps that have to be taken along that road. Reaching our goal will take investment both in terms of time, energy, and maybe some money. But most importantly, emotional investment. I ask all camel fans to jump right in with 2 ft. Talk about the team, listen to the radio show, listen to the podcast, follow the recruiting, go to as many games as you can, pack out the convo. It all matters. Together, we will do this. Before I close, I would not be here today without the mentorship, the support, and the opportunity provided by the current head men's basketball coach at Stanford University, Kyle Smith, and the current head men's basketball coach at Florida, Todd Golden. Both have invested in me tremendously throughout their careers and molded me into the coach that I am today. Finally, I can't forget my parents, Amy and John, who are right here and my fiancee Soulle. Their love and their support has allowed me to live out this dream. And it is truly a dream come true to be your head men's basketball coach. Thank you again, everyone, for providing me with this tremendous opportunity. I can't wait to get to meet you all.
