Near record warmth again on Thursday...
Some fog greeted us early on Wednesday, but it went away pretty quickly. And after that…we saw A LOT of sunshine! YAY! And temperatures warmed nicely too. It was a wonderful Wednesday to be outside. And Thursday looks nice too, although it will be hot. But our taste of summer briefly goes away this weekend, only to come back again next week!
Tonight: Mainly clear and pleasant with lows in the upper 50s.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, hot, and a little more humid with highs near 90.
That’s right! 90 degrees is the forecast for Thursday. We’re going to come close to record highs, with perhaps Lynchburg having the best chance to tie or break a record Thursday afternoon. We will stay quite warm on Friday with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s. Clouds will thicken as we close out the work week. And while most of the day will be dry, later in the afternoon (say after 3p), we will have the chance for a few t-showers, especially in the mountains.
The coverage of the showers and storms gets larger this weekend. It will not rain the entire weekend, BUT…it will be a good idea to have your umbrella handy both days. As of now, Saturday looks to be the wetter than Sunday…with the wettest part of the weekend lying Saturday afternoon into Saturday night. Because of the additional clouds and rain chances, temperatures will be held down a bit, topping out in the 70s. More specifically, the middle 70s on Saturday and the upper 70s on Sunday.
Hit-or-miss, mainly PM showers/storms are still in the forecast for the early-to-middle parts of the next work week. We should see at least a little more sun next week, which will allow temperatures to rise again. Temperatures will top out in the low-to-mid 80s on Monday, climbing into the mid-to-upper 80s next Wednesday.
