Jemez Springs – A Village 4th of July

We will hold the usual morning events (Parade, Flag Ceremony, Vendors, Live Music and Duck Race at/near Father Fitzgerald Park/Plaza) as well as some new events (including a homemade ice cream contest). We will be featuring The Cool Place where folks can cool off in the shade and enjoy a slice of cold watermelon!

New for this year, we will be holding an evening celebration at the Jemez Springs Community Park with vendors, live music, some really fun events for kids including Kids Bounce & Splash as well as a dunk tank where you can take a shot at dunking the current mayor, a former mayor and other folks who serve the village.

Sanitary Sewer Overflow

At around 3 o’clock this afternoon, May 9, 2025, a sewer overflow was discovered just south of Abouselman field. The USFS and the Pueblo of Jemez were immediately notified and an alert went out on our text notification system.

A crew from Jemez Springs working with personnel and equipment from the Pueblo of Jemez restored flow at around 7:30 this evening. Investigations as to the cause of the backup are ongoing.
