The trough will move over the inland waters for Sunday then shift east of the Cascades Monday. Another round of small craft westerlies for the Central and Eastern Strait of Juan de Fuca late this afternoon and tonight. A small craft advisory remains in effect for the outer coastal waters beginning tonight through Saturday afternoon for choppy seas of 8 or 9 feet with 8 to 10 second periods. There will be a brief spell of northwest winds 20 to 25 knots in the Northern Outer Coastal Waters this afternoon. • Weird, tried to upload my GPS track after doing my log today and the gps track was a repeat and log from 3 weeks ago at Ross bay but the title was the current one?

    • Are you sure you didn't accidentally upload the older gpx file with the current title? I deleted the RB one.

    • Practice your technique going down but especially up the stairs, find and know where the three near-beach reefs are, gybe in the finlayson? bay until tide cycle comfortable….or stay a bit outside for most of the session.  Launching at Klover is advanced by walking out on the rocks below the ramp and toward cook with first tack upwind slog toward the turret to clear the reef

      • Technique being sail & board on head, held at strap, other hand on boom head/mast….don’t let a gust lift sail entering bottom 2-3 steps.  Elbow tourists out of the way on stairs (or let Bobson go first), while dodging off leash dogs and small children.  It’s been a while so you may need to do some pruning in the tunnel down first

    • Ya, go to Ross Bay and Windsurf there instead.

    • Cook St will be pretty lonely, but def better for slappy windsurfing than Ross Bay.  Ross is getting more windsurfers than ever before, but the gusty and lighter wind compared to Cook means that its more suited to floaty boards and bigger sails until you are outside then you'll wish for a smaller board. But there is lots of encouragement and friendly faces there!

      • Saw your log and that's why I don't/won't windsurf at Ross Bay, however to windsurf Cook st at the Totem pole it would be sensible to not sail alone just incase things go wrong.
