Fresh air, friends, nature... experience the trails in the NEK.
A network of primarily trails in the woods with varying terrain and views including an optional large mudhole (Shelley's Mudhole) and a double-diamond lookout trail. As Vermont ATV Destination we depend on the patience, respect, and courtesy of our riders. We continue to work very hard to expand our network of trails working with local towns and government. Please obey ALL LAWS and POSTED SIGNS. Go extra slow (and quietly) in town and near houses. If you see someone acting in a way that risks our privileges, please remind them of the rules (or call the authorities).
Tri-County Trails opened May 30, 2025
Enjoy the season.
REMINDER:
1. Helmets are required.
2. Liability insurance is required.
3. All riders under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and possess a safety certification card.
4. Minimum age to operate an ATV on the VASA trail system is 12 years old (see #3).
5. Ride respectfully. It is our privilege, not our right, to ride on these trails.
There is a new energy in the air. Can you feel it? Tri-County ATV Club in Island Pond, VT (a.ka. Brighton) was one of the first ATV clubs in the Northeast Kingdom. Unfortunately, politics and a lack of volunteers have kept the club from being active in the past few years. In 2017 we changed that. Our volunteer leadership has worked around the clock to insure Island Pond is THE all terrain trails destination in the Northeast Kingdom. Put your snowmobiles away and hop on your ATV.
Trails in Island Pond continue to expand. After closing the trails at the end of 2017 we were able to add more miles for 2018 and continue to add more. All trails are now at least 64" wide and are UTV accessible to the 64" allowed by Vermont law.
Downtown Island Pond and some neighborhoods are ATV accessible. Look for and obey signs indicating where streets are open. YOU MUST GO SLOW ON TOWN ROADS AND BE COURTEOUS. NO SHORTCUTS. STREETS CAN BE SHUTDOWN AT ANYTIME. HELMETS ARE REQUIRED IN BRIGHTON AND ON ALL VASA TRAILS. OUR FUTURE SUCCESS DEPENDS ON THE RESPECT WE SHOW IN TOWN!! OBEY SIGNS. PATRONIZE OUR RESTAURANTS, SHOPS, AND FUEL STOPS.
We need your support to expand the network in Island Pond and connect to adjoining clubs. Even if you're already a club and VASA member elsewhere, please consider just a $20 membership to Tri-County ATV Club. Membership will determine our success. You can now join the club and get your TAD online!!
